retaining cell # from boost to sprint

hi - currently a sprint customer considering switching to boost. i was
told by a cellular dealer that porting my # from sprint to boost is easy
but if it doesn't work out and i want to switch back to sprint (i'm off
contract) it's more difficult to retain my number.

is this true? doesn't seem to make sense especially in light of the fact
that boost is using an older sprint network.

It shouldn't be true. Legally, they can't make it more difficult.
Realistically, if Sprint played this game, they'd piss off customers
moving from prepaid to postpaid (which IIRC means higher monthly revenue
to Sprint) and lose them to other carriers.

You're also going backwards into the boost/Nextel iDen network which
is just stagnent wrt new features. If you want prepaid look at Virgin
Mobile.

Can't imagine why that would be the case.

If you want prepaid, stay off of the Sprint network, including avoiding
Virgin Mobile and PlatinumTel. Check PagePlus. It's cheaper and has far
better coverage.
