Do you suppose Sprint knows if you're tethering with a rooted Android?
I have to imagine that a company wouldn't REALLY care unless you are
tethering regularly, and using a significant (to them) amount of data.

I tether once every two or three months while I'm in the great north
woods of Wisconsin (where, oddly, I get faster 3G speeds than I do in
the big city)... Hardly worth paying for the tethering plan!

But, if AT&T can do it, do you suppose Verizon and Sprint are far
behind? They all gotta boost revenue somehow...

Yes they do in fact know if you are tethering. Sprint doesn't care
anymore. They used to have a plan for tethering but when they
simplified to the "Everything" platform it went goodbye for flat data
throughput.
