Why does Virgin show no data coverage for Charlotte NC, but Sprint shows that they have 3G there?

My sister-in-law moved to Charlotte and I was going to tell her to get
the Virgin unlimited data plan for $40 a month. But Virgin shows no data
services in Charlotte. But Sprint shows complete 3G coverage in
Charlotte. I thought that Virgin was offering native Sprint 3G coverage.

extend to Virgin (an MSMO of Sprint)?

from Sprint.

In any case, this nixes that whole idea. That's the problem with Virgin,
it's a good deal if it works where you need it, but there's just too
many places where you get no coverage.

I did that too - when I was looking...
but was wondering about the zipcode,
since the actual "dark green" voice coverage looks spotty around the area ?

Sprint has one of their regional data centers in Charlotte. The Sprint
coverage there is native, not roaming.
