Sprint Bill Charge?

On you Sprint bill, I have a charge of $10 for the Premium Data add-on
charge. Can anyone explain what this charge is for as I am trying to
determine if I really need it. What would I lose in regards to my
phone if I did not have it.

If you have a "smartphone", the fee is mandatory. You have no choice. Why
they didn't explain this to you when you added the phone is a mystery.
