I've had my daughter on an add a phone account since she was 7.
Shes now 19, oh how time flies !
Anways, I gave her the choice of paying the actual cost I pay for her phone,
which is only $10 a month, or get her own plan.

She wants her own, since I don't have internet options on my plan.
She does want to keep her old number though, since she has had it for so
long.
She wants a snazzy touch screen phone, and thats fine with me.
Shes going with Verizon, so my question is how do I port her old number over
to her [soon to be] new phone ?
Does she get the verizon plan going, then I go to Sprint ... Or vice versa ?

You tell the NEW provider that you want to port an existing number.
They'll ask you some questions and handle everything. You don't need
to tell your OLD provider anything.
